The police special task force managed to find 19,000 liters of diesel which had been stored illegally to be sold at a higher price.
According to the information received that this diesel stock was stored near the Hambantota Fishing Port, the Police Special Task Force conducted a raid.
The Special Task Force stated that four suspects were arrested along with nineteen thousand liters of diesel.
Initial investigations revealed that the fuel was planned to be taken to Wellawaya Pelawatta area by a fish transport lorry.
Arrangements were made to hand over the suspects and the diesel stock to the Hambantota Police Station for further investigation.
