780 close associates of coronavirus patient quarantined – PCR Tests on 1600 employees of the factory

With the confirmation that a 39 year old apparel worker a resident of Divulapitiya and her daughter had contracted the Coronavirus, her close associates have been subjected to quarantine.

It has been reported nearly 780 people who has close contact with her have been directed to quarantine.

With the confirmation of having contracted corona virus, her husband, four children and her father, has been directed to the Habaraduwa quarantine center.

It was also revealed that following PCR tests conducted at the Karapitiya hospital, that her 16 year old daughter also had contracted the virus.

Upon the diagnosis, she was transferred to IDH and a group of students from her school were subject to self quarantine last night.

The chairman of the Sri Lanka PHI’s association, Upul Rohana noted that a close group of students who she had closely associated had been directed to a quarantine center.

The head of the COVID 19 prevention national taskforce center, Army commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva noted that with the identification of a covid 19 patient from Divulapitiya, 1490 PCR tests have been conducted within the course of yesterday.

Meanwhile, a 23 year old youth who had contracted coronavirus for the 3rd time upon arriving from dubai in August, has been reported from Anamaduwa area.

The north western province health director, M. Harid noted that while he was being subjected to self quarantine upon recovery from the first infection, he had again shown symptoms of the virus and had been admitted to the Chilaw hospital COVID unit.

During PCR testing conducted at the time it was revealed that he is a Covid 19 positive.

He had been admitted to the Iranawila hospital and had returned home subsequently.

Upon returning home, he had yet again showed symptoms of Corona virus on the 2nd of October, and had been re-entered to the COVID unit at the chilaw hospital.

It was reconfirmed once again that he is positive for the virus.
