A reduction in bus fares !

Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association says that they are ready to provide reduced fuel price concession to the people if the daily fuel supply for private passenger transport buses is continued.

Its chairman Gemunu Wijeratne said that he had discussed this matter with the Minister of Energy as well as with the chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.

Gemunu Wijeratne stated that although a program of providing fuel for private buses is being implemented through Langama Depot, the supply is not sufficient.

He points out that only between 1,500 and 2,000 buses can be added to the operation of the fuel provided through Langama, and there is a need to urgently prepare an alternative program to provide fuel for private buses.
