It has been confirmed that another student of the Sri Jayewardenepura University has been infected with the coronavirus.
The university administration stated that a student who had been staying in a private dormitory with a third year student studying at the Management Faculty of the University of Jayewardenepura had been diagnosed with coronavirus.
The third year student a resident of Panadura was confirmed with the coronavirus infection last Saturday. Subsequent PCR tests have revealed that her friend has also been infected.
Meanwhile, the PCR tests of the owners of the residence where the two female university students were staying was conducted and the results have returned negative. The PCR tests have revealed that they were not infected with coronavirus.
However, both of them have been subjected to a further 14 days of self-quarantine.
Meanwhile, a Ruhuna university spokesperson said that a father of a student in the Wellamadama area in Matara from the Ruhuna University has also been diagnosed with coronavirus.
The student and her friend another female student who was with her in a private hostel in Dondra have been sent for quarantine.
Their P.C.R. tests are to be conducted tomorrow.
