A total of 26 criminals linked to drugs and other crimes were gunned down from the 30th May 2022 to 31st August 2022, said Sri Lanka Police on Thursday (1).
Police Spokesperson SSP Attorney-at-Law Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st that these murders are linked to an ongoing feud between criminal gangs.
He said that these murders are contracted by the Sri Lankan drug traffickers who are in hiding overseas.
The Police Spokesperson said these murders may be contracted based on disputes that arose many years ago between criminals over drug money transactions.
He also said that the recent killings in the south of Sri Lanka are linked to a feud between criminal gangs.
