Former Police Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne who was recently transferred as the personal assistant of the Northern Province Senior DIG, has once again been transferred to the Police Headquarters.
Allegations were raised against SSP Senaratne over statements made to the media with regard to the arrest and release of Riyaj Bathiudeen, the brother of MP Rishad Bathiudeen.
As a result, the National Police Commission transferred SSP Jaliya Senaratne as the personal assistant of the Northern Province Senior DIG as a disciplinary measure.
SSP Senaratne has once again been transferred to the COVID-19 Operations Centre at the Police Headquarters due to a service requirement.
