The Galle Harbour premises were closed temporarily today (23).
Within yesterday (22), 166 service providers including fishermen at the Galle Fisheries Harbor were referred for PCR tests.
Galle District Regional Epidemiologist Dr. Venura Sinharachch stated that 15 persons who attended the funeral in Katuwila, Balapitiya were identified as coronavirus patients. The group had attended the funeral of a relative of the Colombo Dockyard employee who tested positive for COVID-19.
Another 34 COVID-19 patients, mostly from the isolated areas of Ovitigala, Badugama and Badugama New Colony were identified as well. These patients were connected to the passengers of the Matugama-Colombo luxury bus on the Southern Expressway, which previously reported have contracted the virus.
