Steps were taken to temporarily close the Galle Post Office following reports that a COVID-19 patient had visited the premises.
The Galle Medical Officer of Health stated that a person who visited the Foreign Parcel Section and the Communication Area of the Post Office yesterday (22) was confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus.
Accordingly, the post office was closed this morning and its employees who provided services to that patients were directed to quarantine.
