Former State Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage says measures will be taken to provide the public with essential goods while controlling the spread of the coronavirus.
The former State Minister noted a broad programme in this regard will be implemented in the Kandy District.
Akurana has been cordoned-off after an individual who contracted the virus was identified in the area.
Former State Minister Aluthgamage said the public’s need will be looked into during the process.
He noted the District Secretary of the Kandy District under the patronage of the Governor has issued directives to all Divisional Secretariats to ensure the distribution of goods to all areas, together with the Police.
The Former State Minister added there is no need for unnecessary fear as measures will be taken to deliver necessary food items to all areas within the Kandy District during curfew.
