A 52-year-old man has been remanded on charges of sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy.
The Badulla Magistrate’s Court yesterday remanded the man till 3rd March, 2021.
The Court had further ordered the suspect to be produced before a psychiatrist and submit a report on the same day.
According to Swarnavahini, the suspect is a resident of the Karadhagahamada area.
The suspect was arrested based on a complaint filed by the parents of the child at the Kandhaketiya Police station.
The affected child has been admitted to hospital to undergo a medical examination.
The Kandhaketiya Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
