Police in riot gear stormed a rally in Rambukkana on Friday, killing at least one person and wounding more than 20 others. Many people have expressed different views on this situation and some of them, including former cricketers, have condemned the Rambukkana incident. Former Sri Lankan cricketer Mahela Jayawardene has also taken to Twitter to comment on Sri Lanka’s democracy and the rule of law. Sanath Jayasuriya Kumar Sangakkara has also condemned the Rambukkana incident by posting on social media.
