Operations at Fort Police Station restored to normalcy

The operations at Fort Police Station which had been temporarily suspended amid the discovery of a Covid-19 positive Police Inspector have been restored to normalcy, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said.

In the discovery of the infected Police inspector, Fort Police Station was subjected to a total fumigation. The fumigation proccess was carried out yesterday (20), allowing the authorities to reopen the Station for its normal operations from 9 am this (21) morning, Rohana revealed.

Following the case, all Police officers attached to the special investigation unit of Western Province have been referred to quarantine. Meanwhile, all officers of Fort Police Station are also being quarantined.

The Police Spokesperson also revealed that a group Police officers of the Station are being quarantined at the barracks to which they are attached for duty.

The operations at Fort Police Station were restored with the assistance of Police officers who are temporarily attached to the Station from other stations.
