Rose Mary Felicia Perera alias ‘Gina Madam’ sentenced for running a brothel

The Colombo High Court today (19) sentenced Rose Mary Felicia Perera alias ‘Gina Madam’ to two years imprisonment with hard labor after she was convicted on five counts including engaging five women in prostitution.

High Court Judge Dhammika Ganepola issued a suspended sentence for her for 10 years and ordered her to pay a fine of Rs. 500,000.

The President’s Counsel who appeared for the accused requested the court to give lenient sentence considering the age of the accused who pleaded guilty to the five indictments filed.

In 2010, police raided a brothel in a well-known building in the Kollupitiya area and arrested six people, including Rose Mary Felicia Perera alias ‘Gina Madam’.
