The government talks about Gotabhaya’s expenses

The government says that former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will not spend his money on any of his expenses abroad. The Government Information Department announced that all those expenses will be borne by the former president’s personal money.

Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena stated at yesterday’s cabinet decision notification press conference that some media had reported that the government is spending money for the expenses of the former president who is abroad. That was in response to a question raised by a journalist. Responding to that, the minister stated that he would investigate further into the media reports.

Meanwhile, former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa emphasized that all his expenses while abroad are being spent on his personal money, according to the Government Information Department. The former president, who first went to Singapore after the struggle held on July 09, is now staying in Thailand.
