The Minister of Agriculture, Mahinda Amaraweera, has decided not to continue the discussions regarding the removal of Dadulena as the national animal.
It is in consideration of the objection raised in the society regarding the removal of that animal from being named as the national animal.
‘We don’t want to create problems,’ said the minister.
Due to the fact that Dadulena is an animal that damages crops, there was a discussion recently in the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the removal of that animal from being named as the national animal.
