”There’s nothing to hide – the infection came through the factory ” says husband

A 39 year old garment factory worker in Gampaha – Divulapitiya – Bomugammana area was recently diagnosed with Kovid 19 infection.

Her 16-year-old daughter was also diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Her husband and three other children have been taken to the Galle-Habaraduwa Police Quarantine Center.

Her husband who is being quarantined told the Hiru news team that his wife had been infected with the virus from the garment factory that she was working.

He also told the Hiru news team that there was nothing to hide about his wife being infected with the virus or the details.

However, the source of the infection of the Divulapitiya garment worker has not yet been identified.

The Chief Specialist of the Epidemiology Unit Dr. Sudath Samaraweera expressed his views at a media briefing held at the Health Promotion Bureau yesterday.

Special PCR tests will be conducted from today to find the second tier associates of the coronavirus infected garment factory worker.

Meanwhile the COVID- 19, cluster of the workers increased to 101 with 87 from Minuwangoda, 03 from Meerigama and 02 each from Kurunegala, Katana & Divulapitiya and one each from Monaragala, Jaffna, Seeduwa, Ja-Ela & Mahara.
