A Facebook page that posted photos of hundreds of girls, including an 11-year-old girl who was allegedly abused by a young man known as Kiri Saman on social media, has been deactivated with immediate effect. According to a notification issued by the National Child Protection Authority to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, the person who maintains the relevant Facebook page has been summoned and statements have been obtained. The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) said that a resident of the Kalapaluwawa area in Rajagiriya was involved in the abuse of an 11 – year – old girl. He has been arrested on several occasions.
