A wild elephant attack!

A wild elephant has attacked a school girl who was preparing to go to school in the Thekkawatta area in Tamuttegama.

This happened around 6.30am.

The wild elephant took the student away and threw her away, after which the wild elephant left the place due to the screams of the grandmother and mother.

Gagani Nimasha, a Grade 8 student, was injured when she was attacked by a wild elephant.
Survivor Nimasha commented:

“I was about to go home to school. Suddenly the elephant came face to face. Suddenly he grabbed me by the trunk and stretched me out on the grass. Then I got up and came back to see him. He came and tried to walk twice. My mother shouted loudly. When my mother shouted, I left my aunt’s garden again. “
