The Cabinet has approved the establishment of a student loan assistance system under a subsidized interest basis for students who are trained in National Colleges of Education.
Accordingly, as the monthly stipend of 5,000 rupees currently paid to a teacher trainee during the institutional training period of the National College of Education is not sufficient, a maximum of 10,000 rupees per month will be provided in addition to that amount.
The proposal presented by the Minister of Education to take the necessary steps to obtain it through a state bank has thus been approved by the cabinet.
