President Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued an extraordinary gazette announcement that several government services are providing essential services.
According to the gazette notification, all services related to electricity supply, fuel distribution and health related services have been declared as essential public services.
This order has been issued in accordance with the powers vested in the President in terms of Section 2 of the Essential Public Service Act No. 61 of 1979.
